Men's Soccer Finishes SUNYAC play strong

Howdy sports fans,

As we countdown the days of October we also count down the days of the fall season for Golden Eagle athletics.

The highlight of the weekend was our men's soccer team securing the #2 seed in the SUNYAC for the regular season....Great job guys! They swept action on the weekend with a 1-0 win over Fredonia on Friday and a 2-1 victory over the Bengals of Buffalo State on Saturday. Brockport finishes the regular season against Ithaca on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles earn a bye and kick off the SUNYAC tournament in the semifinals on November 6th in Plattsburgh against the winner of the #3 Geneseo/#6 Oswego game!

The Women's soccer team finished in the #3 spot in the SUNYAC. They split their weekend with a 3-0 win over Fredonia and a 2-0 loss to Buffalo State. Brockport will complete the regular season Tuesday against SUNY Cobleskill before hosting #6 Cortland at 1pm in the SUNYAC Quarterfinals.

The Volleyball team secured the No. 2 seed in the West Division after going 2-2 in the second pool play. They will face the third seed from the East Division, Oneonta, on Nov. 5th in New Paltz. But first they will compete in the NY Regional Challenge held in Ithaca this weekend.

For Football, they lost another battle with a 45-44 loss to Western Connecticut State on Saturday. The Colonials got their first win on the season as Brockport now falls to 2-5 overall and 1-5 in the NJAC. A highlight on the game was senior return man Cevon Carver returned two kick-offs of 80 and 90 yards for the Golden Eagles.

***Decision time tomorrow for your Brockport Golden Eagles Athletes of the Week....and you bet I'll write about it as soon as it happens.

GOOOOOO Golden Eagles!
