Athletes of the Week

As promised from last night's post, here are this week's Elite Eagles!!

For the Men:

Cevon Carver
Cevon Carver
Senior Cevon Carver (Bronx, NY/Dewitt Clinton) returned a pair of kickoffs for touchdowns for The College at Brockport Football team to earn the male athlete of the week.

Brockport trailed Western Connecticut State 3-0 before Carver returned the ensuing kickoff 80 yards for his first touchdown. Carver struck against with just under 10 minutes remaining in the first half, returning the kickoff 90 yards for his second score of the day giving Brockport a 20-17 lead.

He finished the contest with 170 total return yards on only two attempts. Carver currently leads the NJAC in kick return average (30.4).

To the Women:

Jess Bush
Jess Bush
Junior Jess Bush (Dryden, NY/Dryden) is this week’s female athlete of the week as The College of Brockport women’s soccer team went 1-1.

Bush had a goal and an assist in the 3-0 win over SUNY Fredonia Friday night. She netted her goal 2:50 into the contest, which proved to be the game-winner. Her assist came later in the first half on a goal by junior Abby Smith in the 25th minute.

Bush stands second on the team with 16 points on five goals and six assists this season.

Brockport (9-3-3 overall, 5-2-2 SUNYAC) earns its 13th consecutive trip to the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) tournament. The Golden Eagles are the No. 3 seed and will face No. 6 Cortland in the quarterfinals.
