Top 10 Golden Eagle Facts

Hello Golden Eagle Fans!

It's been a while since I last checked in. So to get everyone back up to speed I'm going to do a top ten list of Golden Eagle Athletics from the past week.

10.) The men's basketball team set a new Wendy's College Classic Tournament record for most three-pointers attempted in the three game series with 93. The old record was 84 set by RIT in 2006.

9.) The #8 seeded Brockport women's basketball team upset the #1 seed Nazareth College in the Wendy's College Classic, 58-54. It was the largest upset in tournament history.

8.) The men's basketball team drained 15 three-pointers en route to a 83-69 win over SUNY Geneseo.

7.) Freshman Elizabeth Levy finished second on both the balance beam and floor exercise and scored a meet-high 37.225 to win the all-around competition in a 183.775-177.175 victory over Ithaca College.

6.) Gymnast Lauren Gildemeyer won all three events she competed in. She posted a 9.6 on the floor, a 9.250 on the beam and a 9.675 on the vault.

5.) Maria Quagliana won each of her two diving events against MCC and provisionally qualified for Nationals with an 11-dive score of 407.80 in the one-meter.

4.) Sophomore Ian Finnerty was named the Male Athlete and SUNYAC Player of the Week after he scored four goals, including the game-winner for The College at Brockport Hockey team in a 6-3 victory over Lebanon Valley.

3.) Dan Brigano won each of his diving events against MCC, setting new pool records with NCAA provisional qualifying scores.

2.) The men's basketball team gained sole possesion of first place in the SUNYAC standings with a 53-48 victory over Fredonia.

1.) Head Coach Brian Dickinson earned his 100th career victory at Brockport with a 4-0 shutout over Assumption College.

Now that you are caught up, I hope to see you all out supporting the Golden Eagles this weekend. The men's and women's basketball teams will be hosting Plattsburgh on Friday night at 6-8 and take on Potsdam on Saturday at 2 and 4. The Ice Hockey team will host Potsdam on Friday and Plattsburgh on Saturday will both games starting at 7pm.
