Golden Eagles Earn All-Conference

The State University of New York Athletic Conference has honored ten Golden Eagles as All-Conference selections for there performances throughout the winter season.

Ice Hockey
Senior goaltender Todd Sheridan was named All-SUNYAC First Team. Sheridan finished with a 6-8-1 and a 3.50 goals against average in conference play. He led the SUNYAC with 496 saves in net against conference foes for a .903 save percentage.


Men's Basketball

Senior Jermaine Johnson was selected as a member of the All-SUNYAC First-Team. It is the 17th straight season that a Golden Eagle player has been honored as a first-team selection.

Women's Basketball
Senior Whitney Smith was selected as a member of the All-SUNYAC Second-Team. Smith led the Golden Eagles in scoring with 16.9 points per game and was the team’s leading scorer in 21 of the 25 games this season.


Indoor Track and Field
Senior Stephanie Powell and junior Ray Lund each were named First Team All-Conference selections. Seniors Cevon Carver, Nick Mieney, Zach Williamson and freshman Nicole Jones were also recognized by the SUNYAC as Second Team All-Conference selections.

Powell finished first in the weight throw with a career best toss of 14.93 meters and Lund took first place in the men’s weight throw with an NCAA provisional toss of 17.28 meters. It is the third indoor track All-Conference honor for Lund who earned first team in 2009 and second team in 2008.
Carver placed second in the 55 meter hurdles in 7.89 earning his second All-Conference award for indoor track after being named to the first team in 2009. Williamson finished second behind Lund in the weight throw with a distance of 15.76 meters and Mieney took second in the pole vault clearing an NCAA provisional height of 4.65 meters.
Jones placed second in the shot put with a toss of 11.28 meters.


Swimming and Diving
Senior Maria Quagliana earned second team honors. Quagliana took second place in the 3-meter diving and third in the one-meter at the conference championships. The diver scored a 416.45 in the 3-meter competition and then she broke her own school record in the one-meter diving competition, with a score of 426.05.
