Athletes of the Week

Max Zimmerman and Melissa Hill were selected as the Elite Eagles for the week of April 26-May 2nd.

Junior Max Zimmerman (East Amherst, NY/Williamsville) broke two school records and led the baseball team to a No.3 seed in the upcoming SUNYAC Tournament to earn the male athlete of the week.
Zimmerman finished with a .353 batting average, a 1.059 slugging average and a .500 on-base percentage. He was 6-of-17 at the plate with four homeruns, four runs scored and 13 RBI.
The designated hitter broke the career RBI record with a nine-RBI performance in an 18-9 victory against Hilbert College. The old record was 108, and Zimmerman now stands at 118.
Zimmerman also set the single season record for runs batted in as he led Brockport to a come-from-behind 9-8 victory in 10 innings over SUNY New Paltz. He hit a three-run home run to give Brockport the 8-7 lead and then had the game-winning RBI single down the left field line in the 10th to end the game. Zimmerman had four RBIs in the game for his 46th of the season, breaking the school record for RBI’s. The old record was 45 set in 2009.
It is the ninth consecutive SUNYAC tournament appearance for Brockport and the eighth consecutive season with 20 plus wins.

Senior Melissa Hill (Rochester, NY/Brighton) is the female athlete of the week after leading Brockport to two wins and a No. 2 seed in the SUNYAC Tournament.
Hill finished the week with nine goals and one assist as Brockport defeated Buffalo State 18-7 and Fredonia 15-11 in overtime. She netted four goals against the Bengals and tied her career-high of five goals, including two in overtime, verse Fredonia.
Hill also finished with eight groundballs, five draw controls and eight caused turnovers in the two games.
